From Standards to Success: Cold War America and the Search for Identity (USHC 5)
This training builds directly on Planning and Assessing for the U.S. History EOCEP, with a focus on how American power, society, and identity evolve from 1945 to the present. Centered on USHC Standard 5, educators will unpack indicators, examine EOCEP blueprint emphasis, and use Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) to differentiate instruction on Cold War strategy, social movements, economic restructuring, and globalization. Participants will anchor each indicator in a single high-leverage turning point, draft EOCEP-style items aligned to HTS and DOK 2→3, and scaffold inquiry lessons that move students from recall to reasoning. Educator-created materials will be added to a shared bank of EOCEP-aligned resources.
